How do I get a new personal key?
To request a new personal key, go to https://www.login.gov/ and select “Manage Account” to sign into your login.gov account page. Next to personal key select “Get a new key.” Follow the instructions to write down and/or print out the new personal key and select continue to finish the process. Remember, you can only request a new personal key if you are able to sign into your login.gov account.
Store your personal key in a safe place as this is the only way you can sign in if you can’t receive a security code. Some good ways of storing your personal key include writing it down, taking a screenshot, pasting it into a secure document, or making a printout of it. You can only use each personal key only once, after which we’ll give you another.
