If we cannot automatically verify your address, you must verify it by mail. This means that we will mail you a letter with a confirmation code that you must use to finish setting up your account.
You will receive the letter via U.S. Postal Service, three to five business days after the date when you request the code. The confirmation code will expire 30 days after the date when you submit your request.
If you do not receive your letter or your confirmation code expires before you finish the identity verification process, you can request a new confirmation code. To do so, sign in to the government application or to https://secure.login.gov and select “Send me a new confirmation code” when asked to enter your code.
